In the beginning, the now widespread cat-eye represented a real revolution in the industrial production of eyeglasses and sunglasses. They broke with tradition inherited from the 30s and 40s, a long era in which manufacturers provided only rounded or at most squared shapes.
The novelty found fertile ground thanks to the economic boom in the Western world right after the end of the Second World War.
Both the greater propensity of women to buy at the time and new ergonomic solutions left the greyness of the years of terror behind.
In the 1950s, this new model began to find fertile ground thanks to American women passionate about the Beehive hairstyle, who planned to pull up their hair.

Following their distribution, timeless divas such as Audrey Hepburn, Marylin Monroe, and Liz Taylor allowed this design to be linked with a concept of refinement and powerful femininity. With the spread in the 1970s of oversized glasses (recalling the disproportionate eyes of flies), the cat-eyes lost part of the central role they reached.
It took almost fifty years to bring back a classic in eyewear history!
With the Camille Montes, our new 2022 design, the offer of our cat-eyes has risen to ten options. They differ in shapes, materials, rim-eye thickness, flexibility of the arms, and other details you will find out by reading this post. So let’s see the available proposals.
FIONA VOLPE

Fiona Volpe’s classic style was born in 2015. It’s a thick cat-eye realized following a trend enhancing the skeleton’s size through the acetate, the chosen material.
With its size, Fiona Volpe makes tribute to the late 60s trends. It delivers a style that would be perfect for a mysterious diva, hiding her face behind its lenses.
Perhaps you could find something similar in Celine, but nothing that can absolutely compare to the refinement of the design of Kopajos.
The 49mm lens is a medium caliber, yet the acetate frame makes it appear even larger. The 24mm bridge (i.e., the distance between the two lenses) is comfortable and necessary for its fit. The 150mm arms are the longest you will find in our collection.
Actress, DJ, model, and entrepreneur Lindsay Lohan chose them for her television (and business) adventure in Mykonos where she opened the Lohan Beach House a few years ago. The combination selected for the occasion was Ivory / Mirrored Gold, which is also very trendy this year.

Thanks to the rim-eye, Fiona Volpe can easily become a prescription glasses.
Available color frames: Black, Black-White, Ivory, Leopard, Navy Blue, Tarta Dark, Tarta Dark-Ivory, Tarta Light, Tiffany, Transparent Blue, Transparent Green, and Transparent Red.

ANNA SHEEP

Anna Sheep sunglasses exalt the ultralight titanium skeleton to enshrine the acetate rim-eye and the lenses, as we did in other designs of our collection.
These sunglasses are comfortable, with adjustable nose-pads, stretchable arms, spring hinges that help the fit, and 64mm lenses. The 14mm bridge may seem narrow, but the nose pads help the comfort. Arms have a standard size of 140mm.
Anna Sheep can be transformed into eyeglasses, but we suggest cutting the lenses so they can’t pop out the rim eye (avoiding an unpleasant look).
The available skeletons are in gold and silver.
The rim-eye colors are black, honey, leopard, navy blue, and tarta dark.

BLATT-1

Blatt-1 has had an incredible response since 2017, when we introduced them to our collection. The reason for the success of these sunglasses is their peculiar shape. In fact, a cat-eye design so squared is weird if compared to other more classic models in our collection.
Just one year later, the dear departed Virgil Abloh, designer of the Off-White brand, realized a very similar shape in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Could Virgil get the inspiration from our sunnies in Kalogera Street, the central shopping place of Mykonos? We’re in front one to the other there!

Let’s analyze the relevant details of these sunglasses: lenses are 54mm at their larger point. In order to deliver that unique shape, it has been necessary to reduce the bridge to 17mm. The arms are 145mm, so to improve the fit, they are ergonomically shaped, not to press the ears.
The abundant variety of the skeletons come in the following colors: black (both matt and shiny) matt blue matt transpa, tarta dark, shiny transpa, transpa red and white.
Any colors make the difference to your style, because Blatt-1 shape give personality to the face.

JENNY FLEX

Jenny Flex style is one of the smallest you’re gonna find in our collection, along with Shady Tree and Orlov sunglasses. We first presented Jenny Flex in 2018 to offer our version of a small cat-eye design and to deliver an alternative for those who want to dare with their own style. Micro-sunglasses have been a trend at the time.
The cat-eye shape allowed us to lengthen the lenses, reaching 55mm, but the Jenny Flex diamter is still contained. 14mm bridge comes with adaptable nose-pads. Arms are 140mm.

Right now, the available colors are just three: black, metal yellow, and shiny gold. These sunglasses can also be prescription glasses. The metal skeleton makes them pretty strong.Soon in a replenishment at this link
MISS TARO

These sunglasses may be the most recognizable among the cat-eye styles. Our Miss Taro allowed us to distinguish from similar offers delivered by Celine or Retrosuperfuture, which came out in the same period. We’re proud we won our challenge by providing an elongated shape we declined in numerous options.
Let’s spend a few words on the available colors: alongside the common Black, Tarta Dark, and the transparent acetate, we added multicolor (like in the picture in our guide), pink, ivory, the tarta dark-ivory, and the black-white, so to encourage a choice out of the ordinary. Overcoming our insecurities with a lovely accessory, even better if it’s our sunglasses, is the best gift you can give yourself.
Let’s see in detail the main sizes of these sunglasses. The lenses are 50mm, and the acetate around seems to amplify them to underline the cat-eye shape. The 19mm bridge doesn’t have nose pads; we do not recommend Miss Taro to those worried about their small nose. The 145mm arms are a perfect combination of acetate and metal, something that improves the fit on the ears. Please notice the hanging on the front that is high enough to enhance the comfort while wearing this pair.

A version with a cut at 45 degrees is available; it’s an elegant detail that is easy to notice that gives more definition to the frame. If you want to buy Miss Taro, you can click here.
All the available options are there.
We will soon publish part two with the other 5 cat-eye Kopajos styles.
