Our 2022 Summer Report. What were the most followed trends ?
14 September 2022Although the summer season is far from its end here in Greece, we can already deliver our point of view about the trends we noticed during these intense months between Mykonos and Santorini.
Even if acetate is still the favorite material for sunglasses, thanks to some news and reinterpretation, those in titanium have also been appreciated this year. Let’s see the designs our customers loved the most.
An undoubtedly common trait is that these sunnies give character to the face without being exaggerated.
CAMILLE MONTES

After some years, when we introduced Miss Taro, we decided to expand our acetate cat-eye collection with some fresh, easy-to-wear sunglasses. Camille Montes is the chosen name, inspired by the Bond Girl of the 2008 James Bond movie “Quantum of Solace.”
The maximum lens width is 54mm, well-proportioned to the 17 mm bridge, granting an excellent fit even if it’s thin. Arms measure 145 mm and are designed to allow a comfortable sunglasses fitting, following the earrings to avoid excessive weight.
It’s a medium size caliber. A thin face could find outsized the space that exceeds the cheekbones. We always suggest a try because we believe these sunglasses must be easy-to-wear.
The skeleton’s color palette has been realized with some of our classics, like black, tarta dark, and honey, and more original shades, like transparent green and red, havana, and tiffany. This last tint has come back to our collection after some years.
We have new transparent orange lenses, too. Give them a try for a phenomenal day-to-sunset experience. Your eyes will thank us!
Moreover, don’t forget that the Camille Montes model can be adapted to any optical prescription.

NEW VESPER LYND sunglasses

The renovated Vesper Lynd design, with a broader rim eye and titanium as the material of production, offers a more fresh look to a tendentially classic shape.
American Model Gigi Hadid has been an exceptional testimonial for our New Vesper Lynd with the Shiny Gold/G 15 combo.
Let’s analyze its new sizes. Lenses rim-eye is now 57mm wide, with a skeleton all around thinner in its center and larger at its edges, giving the sunglasses the recognizable cat-eye look. The narrow 15mm bridge is supported with stretchable titanium nose pads, ensuring a comfortable fit.
Arms have a standard 140mm size, which also helped with a “spring” hinge improving the flexibility and openness, making them pleased to wear. We realized through the advanced epoxy resin technology a system to minimize impacts with the sunglasses front to reduce damages from carelessness.

DR NO AND DR NO RIM sunglasses

It can be solidly affirmed this is a fundamental piece of Kopajos’ history.
Even though many years have passed since introducing this design, it’s incredible how customers still respond positively to Dr. No.
We are going to present it along with Dr. No Rim since dimensions and colors are the same; it changes just that little but relevant detail of the metal rim-eye around the lens.
It’s a classic rounded acetate shape with a significant thickness, perfect for giving an energetic attitude to the look. We do not recommend these sunglasses to those who cannot bear a heavy weight for a long time; they couldn’t be the right pair, but we always suggest trying them.
The lens size is 41mm, making it a medium caliber with a perfect proportion offered by the 26mm bridge. Arms reach 145mm in length and are easily adaptable to the head, thanks to the material, the acetate. The metal parts inside keep the shape and improve the stability.
Inserts of these sunglasses are gold and silver, and there is no way to change them on the frames.
Entrepreneur and designer Edgardo Osorio of Aquazzura is a passionate fan of Dr. No Rim, counting numerous pairs in his customized collection. Furthermore, the classic style of our sunglasses matches the elegance that Mr. Osorio accustomed us to.
Both Dr. No and Dr. No Rim can be easily transformed into eyeglasses, thanks to their rim-eye thickness. Visit www.kopajos.com/product/dr-no and www.kopajos.com/product/product/dr-no-rim.
MR. LING

The crowded options for aviator sunglasses have followed the Ray-ban concept of “tear-drop” lenses for years. That’s why in Kopajos, we try to interpret different ideas, otherwise ordinary, to be more recognizable through our taste.
Mr. Ling’s style is really versatile and easy to wear thanks to an abundant choice of lenses to combine with black, bronze, gold, silver, and metal red skeletons. In case you’re wondering, this is a unisex aviator, like almost all our designs.
The 50mm lens diameter makes these sunglasses a nice compromise between a small and a medium caliber. The bridge, i.e., the distance between the lenses, is 21mm, whereas the arms are 140mm long.
Flexible nose pads and spring hinges allow a comfortable fit on the nose.

ANGELO PALAZZI

The titanium version, enriched in details of our Vargas, a design that recalls a wayfarer shape, has been one of the top sunglasses of our summer, in Mykonos and mostly in Santorini. We’re talking about the Angelo Palazzi model.
The first enjoyable particular regards the lenses that stretch on the extreme sides of the skeleton, like they are wings. If you all would convert Angelo Palazzi into optical glasses, please ask an expert to cut the lenses carefully, avoiding poor results.
61mm caliber makes these sunglasses large but adjusting the nose pads, the fit, and the look will be unique. The bridge is more narrow than you can expect, but it helps to balance the sunglasses, avoiding that they look too broader on the face. Arms measure 140mm.

LINA

Lina is the chicest entry of the 2022 Kopajos collection. Its rounded and elongated shape encloses a vintage soul and careful attention to detail, beginning from the embossed bridge on the frontal side of the skeleton.
Arms are detailed with a metal part with a “wavy” pattern that who visits Kopajos knows well since it’s the same one we use on our stores’ layout.
Despite all, arms can be adjusted, tightened, or opening them, granting a more comfortable fit. That retrò vibe we described above is anyway on trend right now.
Lina is suitable for optical prescription too.
